| Non-Christians, skeptics, and people of other faiths raise some very good questions regarding the Christian faith, questions that we as Christians should be able to answer. The word apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia found in 1 Peter 3:15 and means "defense." The Bible says that we're to always be ready (thus the name of this ministry) to give a "defense" (an apologia) to people who ask us about the hope we have as Christians. Why does God want us to "defend the faith"? Shouldn't we just preach the gospel? What Biblical examples are there of people involved in defending the faith? You'll find answers to these questions in the resources below.

DEFENDING THE FAITH: The Importance of Contending for the Truths of Christianity (DVD) Should Christians defend the faith? Should we seek to persuade nonbelievers to believe with reasons and evidences? Why? What Biblical examples are there of those in the Scriptures giving evidences and reasons to believe? Did Jesus defend the faith? Why does God want us to be prepared to give a defense? In this study, Charlie Campbell answers these questions and others and then wraps things up by emphasizing the character traits that should mark the Christian’s attempts to persuade people to believe (humility, gentleness, respect, patience, love, compassion, etc.). DVD length: 58 minutes. This WIDESCREEN DVD contains nearly a 100 images from Charlie’s PowerPoint presentation. Click here to purchase ($11.95). |
